I am a friendly and sociable person who likes to be around people. Many people like to be around me because they say that I have a good personality and I make people laugh. When people are having a bad day I like to be the one to cheer them up because it makes me happy to see other people happy. It is very hard to me to open up to people because I have trust issues from things that happened in my childhood. I don’t like for people to see me cry so I hide my feelings inside which I do very well because I have practice doing it. When people look at me they all just see me as a happy person but I’m not. If u are really close to me then I would tell how I am feeling. I love to read because I like how the book speaks to me sometimes and how it keeps me interested in reading to see what happens next.
My real mom and dad didn’t work out as a couple so I now have the best stepmom ever. I have trust issues because of my mom. She did some hurtful things to me and my brother which is why I probably try to have so many friends. I use strong dislike feelings towards my real mom but as i got older i learned to just let go of all that hurt that I held in. It’s hard for me to talk about things to people cause I never really talked to anyone growing up. Me and my brother Jalen are super close because we have been through so much which makes us have a really great bond. What me and my brother have is what most people want but can only grow to have that relationship by building and struggling at times.
Being a girl has always been a problem because people feel that we are not on the same level as boys. There have been times when people have asked a boy for things like help bringing in certains things or carrying something even though I would be right there. I am african american which for some people has caused so many challenges in their life,but I haven’t experienced these myself. My life has been very impacted from what I have seen around me and from being a girl and african american. I hope that these challenges soon can resolve themselves because there are some truly bright women out there like myself. I feel that if people just open their eyes we can make the world a much better place.
During middle school I earned so many awards because I was an A/B student who was really involved in school activities. I won three medals for academic excellence in the 7th grade.I have two more medals for TCAP Excellence also 7th grade. These next awards are from 6th-8th grade year which are for winning the basketball championship,a president’s award for educational excellence,perfect attendance,outstanding behavior,honor roll,outstanding achievement in gym,outstanding achievement for literacy,outstanding achievement for social studies,outstanding achievement for science. I think two of my greatest achievements are getting an award from the president and my outstanding achievement in all but one classe. One project that I’m proud of is my art project that I did my sophomore year because my teacher put it in the art show which made me feel good about the work that I did.
One of my problems that I face is trust issues because when I was little my mom left me and my brother so ever since then I have had to struggle with trusting people because I use to put too much trust them. My brother always said that I made best friends quickly but I mean it is just that I am trusting people just because I didn’t want to feel abandoned. I would always get mad very quickly because I would have so much anger in me because of what my mom did so I directed that towards other people without trying to. I had to work on my anger because I knew it was bad. Most of the problems I had came from my mom because I hadn’t gotten over all the hurt that she has done to me.
After highschool I went to the University of Kansas because they had a really good pre-medicine program. KU has shown me so many new things and given me incredible opportunities .After college I plan to be a pediatric surgeon because I love little kids and I would like the opportunity to be able to help save their lives. I know that it will be a lot of hard work but I think that I am up to the task. I want to be able to tell my kids one day that their mom saves millions of little kids’ lives. I also plan to get married and have at least two kids because I want to be able to help change the world around us by raising bright and talented children.
